Reiki Training Los Angeles

Have you heard of Reiki, Reiki energy healing, or perhaps Reiki Training or Reiki Training Los Angeles?  If you think it has its roots in the Orient due to its Asian-sounding name, you'd be correct.  Reiki itself has its roots in Japan, a holistic form of alternative medicine that was started in 1922 by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist.  Understand that although Reiki itself is less than 100 years old, it has its roots in a form of alternative medicine that is thousands of years old originating in China.  The school of thought is definitively Eastern, and is difficult for those of us who were raised in the West to understand and even accept this relatively "new" form of medicine simply because it is not something that is familiar.  Western medicine deals with the visible, the measurable, the physically tangible, provable, and in controlled settings, reproduce-able.  It is difficult for us to understand what we do not see or understand.  Reiki, and its older, Chinese brethren "Qigong," is founded on the whole notion of the universal life force, known in Japan as "ki" and in China as "qi" or "chi."  It is the belief and study of this universal life force, and understanding how it should correctly flow through a person that allows a person to know how it affects them as a person.  This universal life force flows through all living beings, humans being no exception to this.

Sometimes, however, it can be blocked or hampered by various "blockages," and although it is all most impossible to measure with current scientific instruments, the impedements are nonetheless felt by the person.  This sense of things being "out of sorts," can be tangibly felt by a person, but impossible to detect using medicinal instruments, and can prove frustrating to diagnose, especially for the Western doctor who is not equipped to detect such hamperings.  In a nutshell, what a Reiki master or practitioner does is administer this life-giving universal life force to the patient, usually in a relaxed and quiet setting in order to allow for the release of the bad energy and to allow for the influx of good energy.  A Reiki master then is kind of a "spiritual plumber," of sorts, but it is much more than that.  There is also a sense of "tuning," very similar to the way that a musician will tune their instrument before a performance or practice.  The Reiki practitioner or master is the metaphorical tuning fork, bringing the person back into the correct pitch by correcting their flow of "chi."  This is an aspect to Reiki that is very different from Western medicine -- the Reiki "doctor" or master needs to be in a healthy spiritual, mental, and emotional state in order to be a proper tuning fork.  He then "retunes" the patient, freeing any blockages within that person whether they be emotional, mental, etc., and then facilitates the influx of new healthy "chi," bringing the flow of a person's life force back into a healthy state.
